ARTISAN Team
The ARTISAN team includes researchers, engineers, and collaborators working on AI-enabled systems and cyberinfrastructure for science and engineering.
Director — ARTISAN; Principal Research Scientist
Research focus: AI for science, cyberinfrastructure, distributed systems, scientific workflows
I lead the ARTISAN Center at Georgia Tech, where we build AI-enabled cyberinfrastructure that accelerates scientific discovery across disciplines. My work focuses on distributed systems, scientific workflows, and open platforms that allow researchers to run large-scale simulations and AI models on advanced computing systems. I also lead the Nexus AI supercomputing initiative, helping develop next-generation infrastructure that makes powerful computing accessible to scientists nationwide.
Associate Director — ARTISAN; Principal Research Scientist
Research focus: Computational neuroscience, AI for scientific discovery, interpretable machine learning
I am a computational neuroscientist fascinated by how intelligence emerges from neural computations in the brain and in artificial systems. My research combines computational neuroscience, machine learning, and AI to understand learning and memory while exploring how these principles can inspire new AI methods.
Associate Director — ARTISAN; Principal Research Scientist
Research focus: Computational chemistry, molecular modeling, science gateways
I am a computational chemist working at the intersection of molecular science and advanced computing. I lead the SEAGrid science gateway which provides researchers access to HPC resources and scientific applications for chemistry and engineering.
Senior Research Engineer
Research focus: Science gateways, distributed computing systems, cyberinfrastructure platforms
I build scalable systems that power science gateways and distributed computing platforms used by research communities around the world. My work focuses on developing reliable services for job orchestration, data movement, and secure computing environments that enable complex scientific workflows. At ARTISAN, I help design and operate the infrastructure that connects scientific applications, data, and advanced computing resources.
Research Scientist II
Research focus: Scientific computing, neuroinformatics, research productivity tools
I am a computer scientist building tools that bring high-performance computing directly into the researcher's IDE. At ARTISAN, I contribute to CyberShuttle and Apache Airavata, and help fellow scientists scale their computational workloads on these platforms.
Senior Research Scientist
Research focus: Scientific workflows, science gateways, distributed computing platforms
I develop and operate cyberinfrastructure platforms that enable researchers to run complex scientific applications and workflows on advanced computing systems. I support users of the SciGaP science gateway platform and the CyberShuttle system, helping research communities build and operate gateways that accelerate scientific discovery. I also coordinate ARTISAN research projects and serve as Project Manager for the Nexus Center supporting the Nexus AI supercomputing initiative at Georgia Tech.
